About the Company
The University of Alaska Aviation Technology Division provides professional pilot training and aviation education programs focused on student pilot development, flight operations, and aviation workforce preparation.
Position Summary
The University of Alaska Anchorage is seeking Preceptor Adjunct Certified Flight Instructors Levels I-III to provide flight and ground instruction for beginning, intermediate, and advanced pilot students under Part 141 flight training operations.
Responsibilities
• Provide flight and ground instruction for assigned students
• Support training operations in single-engine, complex, and multi-engine aircraft
• Evaluate student learning progress and training standards
• Maintain student training records and documentation
• Utilize simulators and ground training aids during instruction
• Maintain compliance with FAA, TSA, and university operational standards
• Support FAA-approved Training Course Outline requirements
• Conduct Stage Checks for qualified Level III instructors
Requirements
All Levels:
• BasicMed or FAA Third Class Medical Certificate
• Familiarity with flight simulators and training aids
• Familiarity with FAA, TSA, aircraft, and university manuals/documents
• Meet 14 CFR Part 61.57 recent flight experience requirements
• Ability to pass Part 141 checkout flight within 30 days of employment
CFI Level I:
• FAA Commercial ASEL with Instrument Rating or ATP ASEL
• FAA CFI Airplane Single-Engine Certificate
CFI Level II:
• FAA Commercial ASEL with Instrument Rating or ATP ASEL
• FAA CFII Certificate
CFI Level III:
• FAA Commercial Single and Multi-Engine Certificate with Instrument Rating or ATP Single and Multi-Engine
• FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Single and Multi-Engine Instrument privileges
Preferred Qualifications
• Part 141 experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• FAA Advanced Ground Instructor Certificate preferred
• FAA Instrument Ground Instructor Certificate preferred
