Description

Position Summary

The Life Flight Pilot supports helicopter air ambulance operations by safely and efficiently transporting medical teams and critically ill or injured patients under VFR and IFR conditions while operating advanced emergency medical aircraft.


Responsibilities

• Maintain standby readiness for rapid response missions
• Conduct emergency air ambulance transport operations
• Safely transport medical personnel and patients
• Perform refueling, test, orientation, and public relations flights
• Maintain communication with flight operations and emergency services personnel
• Conduct aircraft inspections and certify airworthiness
• Review weather, fuel requirements, and aircraft records
• Complete operational documentation and load manifests
• Maintain current FAA regulatory knowledge and training requirements
• Travel to satellite bases as assigned
• Attend pilot and departmental meetings
• Maintain clean aircraft and work environment


Requirements

• Commercial Instrument Helicopter License
• FAA Second Class Medical Certificate required
• ATP Written completed
• 2,000 PIC Turbine Helicopter Hours required
• 200 Night Helicopter PIC Hours required
• 75 Helicopter IFR Hours required


Preferred Qualifications

• FAA First Class Medical preferred
• 3,000 PIC Turbine Helicopter Hours preferred
• 300 Night Helicopter PIC Hours preferred
• 100 Helicopter IFR Hours preferred
• SPIFR experience preferred
