Description

Position Summary

The Assistant Chief Pilot provides leadership and daily managerial oversight of flight operations while supporting the Chief Pilot in the development and growth of the flight department. The role is responsible for pilot training, operational oversight, safety management, standardization, flight operations efficiency, and the continued development of pilots and instructors. The Assistant Chief Pilot works directly with operational personnel to optimize mission execution, aircraft utilization, and safety performance.


Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and Just Culture environment
• Conduct and supervise ground and flight training for pilots and instructor pilots
• Serve as trainer and evaluator for line pilots and instructor pilots
• Train pilots on image capture systems and troubleshooting procedures
• Develop and implement pilot training programs, manuals, and documentation
• Coordinate daily flight missions with operational personnel
• Coordinate camera system maintenance activities
• Assist with development and implementation of SOPs and safety procedures
• Review pilot licenses, ratings, qualifications, and training records
• Supervise proficiency checks and pilot standardization efforts
• Monitor SOP compliance and operational performance metrics
• Coach pilots in airmanship, professionalism, and aeronautical decision-making
• Support real-time operational decision-making and risk management
• Develop and manage Initial Operating Experience (IOE) programs
• Coordinate aircraft availability and maintenance activities
• Conduct operational audits and compliance reviews
• Participate in Safety Management System (SMS) activities
• Support pilot development through coaching, feedback, and performance management
• Travel up to 40% annually as required
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Chief Pilot


Requirements

• Current CFI Certificate
• Current MEI Certificate
• English Proficiency
• Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid U.S. Passport
• Ability to maintain FAA First Class or Second Class Medical Certificate
• College Degree or Equivalent Experience
• 750 Hours Total Flight Time
• 300 Hours Dual Given
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a remote environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

• CFII Certificate
• Aerial Survey Experience
• Previous Aviation Management Experience
• Remote Work Experience
• Experience with Slack, Concur, SmartSheet, Teams, and SharePoint

Compensation
