Description
Position Summary
The Lead Captain is responsible for serving as Pilot in Command for Citation XLS Part 91 corporate flight operations while providing operational leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional service to aircraft owners and passengers. This position supports all aspects of flight department operations while promoting safety, professionalism, and continuous operational improvement.
Schedule
• Full-Time Contractor.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel as required.
Responsibilities
• Serve as Pilot in Command for Citation XLS flight operations.
• Lead day-to-day aircraft operations, including flight planning, execution, and post-flight duties.
• Coordinate with maintenance providers, scheduling personnel, FBOs, and operational partners.
• Deliver exceptional service to aircraft owners and passengers.
• Promote a positive cockpit environment through leadership, teamwork, and communication.
• Maintain all required FAA certifications, training, and aircraft qualifications.
• Assist with scheduling, operational planning, weather evaluations, and maintenance coordination.
• Represent the flight department professionally with passengers, vendors, and airport personnel.
• Support standardization, continuous improvement, and safe operating practices.
Requirements
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
• Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
• Current or recent Citation XLS or comparable Citation aircraft experience.
• Significant Part 91 corporate aviation Pilot in Command experience.
• Experience working directly with aircraft owners and executive-level passengers.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, corporate flight operations, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous Lead Captain experience.
• Previous Chief Pilot experience.
• Previous Check Airman experience.
• Previous flight department leadership experience.
• Experience managing daily flight department operations.
• Strong customer service and decision-making skills.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
• Stable corporate aviation employment history.
• Spanish language proficiency.
