Description

Position Summary
The Tow Pilot flies a Piper Pawnee to launch gliders within a Part 91 soaring club operation, towing sailplanes aloft on scheduled operating days, with training provided in both the tow plane and the club’s sailplanes.


Responsibilities
• Fly the club’s Piper Pawnee to tow gliders aloft on scheduled operating days (Saturdays and Sundays)


Requirements
• At least a private pilot certificate
• 100–500 hours pilot-in-command time (to be determined)
• 10 takeoffs and landings in the Pawnee
• Tailwheel and high-performance endorsements for the Pawnee (none required for the C-175)
• Current medical and flight review
• Logged glider instruction in your logbook
• Cockpit familiarization in the Pawnee
• Simulated or actual dual tows
• A logged logbook endorsement for towing gliders from another qualified tow pilot
• Comply with FAR 61.69 (glider towing experience and training) and FAR 91.309 (towing gliders)
