Description
Position Summary
The Pilot in Command (PIC) is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of the Learjet 45XR during Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. The PIC serves as the final authority for all flight decisions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, company procedures, and the highest standards of safety, customer service, and operational excellence. This position reports directly to the Chief Pilot.
Responsibilities
• Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) for Learjet 45XR flight operations
• Conduct preflight inspections and prepare or review flight plans
• Review weather conditions for departure, destination, alternate airports, and en route operations
• Calculate aircraft weight and balance, fuel requirements, and performance data
• Ensure aircraft is properly maintained, serviced, and prepared for passenger safety and comfort
• Utilize company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists during all phases of flight
• Supervise the First Officer and coordinate assigned crew members
• Make operational decisions regarding flight delays, cancellations, diversions, or route changes based on operating conditions
• Maintain communication and availability with crew and operational staff during duty periods
• Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest level of professionalism
Requirements
• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate or ATP Written completed
• Multi-Engine Land Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
• Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
• Minimum 3,000 Total Flight Hours
• Minimum 1,500 Hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
• Minimum 200 Hours Multi-Engine Flight Time
• Valid Passport
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to pass TSA background screening, drug testing, and obtain airport ID badge and ramp driving privileges
• Proficient in radiotelephone communications
• High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Previous Part 91 and Part 135 operational experience
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Attention to detail and ability to adapt in a dynamic operational environment
