Description
Position Summary
The Second in Command (SIC) supports Part 135 charter flight operations by assisting the Pilot in Command with the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of company aircraft. This position participates in all phases of flight preparation and execution while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, customer service, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
• Assist the Pilot in Command with the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft
• Participate in pre-flight planning, including weather, NOTAM, and performance reviews
• Conduct pre-flight inspections and ensure aircraft readiness
• Monitor aircraft systems and communicate effectively with the Pilot in Command during flight
• Assist with navigation and radio communications
• Maintain compliance with FAA Part 135 regulations, company SOPs, and safety procedures
• Complete post-flight documentation and debriefings
• Maintain all required pilot certificates, licenses, and medical qualifications
• Complete required training, check rides, and recurrent evaluations
• Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and exceptional customer service
Requirements
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating
• Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate (First Class preferred)
• Minimum 1,500 Hours Total Flight Time
• Minimum 500 Hours Multi-Engine Flight Time
• Meet all 14 CFR Part 135 Second in Command eligibility requirements
• Strong understanding of Crew Resource Management (CRM), aeronautical decision-making, and FAA regulations
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screening, and company training
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous Part 135 experience
• Aircraft Type Rating
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
