Description
Position Summary
Seeking a Chief Pilot to lead Part 135 flight operations while overseeing pilot performance, regulatory compliance, training, standardization, and operational excellence. This leadership position is responsible for fostering a strong safety culture, mentoring flight crews, and ensuring safe and efficient flight operations.
Schedule
• Full-time salaried position
• Supports a seven-day-per-week Part 135 operation
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and outside normal business hours as operational needs require
• Provide operational leadership and support outside normal business hours as needed
Responsibilities
• Lead pilot recruitment, onboarding, training, standardization, mentoring, and performance management
• Ensure all flight operations comply with FAA regulations, company policies, Operations Specifications, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Oversee pilot qualifications, certifications, training records, and regulatory compliance
• Manage flight scheduling, crew assignments, duty time limitations, and operational control
• Maintain aircraft manuals, flight publications, checklists, and operational documentation
• Coordinate with the Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance, and other departments to support daily operations
• Support FAA audits, inspections, reporting, and regulatory compliance
• Champion the Safety Management System (SMS) through hazard reporting, pilot mentoring, and operational communication
• Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Requirements
• Minimum three years of recent Pilot-in-Command (PIC) experience under 14 CFR Part 121 or Part 135
• Recent Cessna Caravan (C208) Pilot-in-Command experience within the past three to five years
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate ratings
• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate preferred
• Previous Chief Pilot or Assistant Chief Pilot experience preferred
• Candidates serving as Chief Pilot for the first time must meet the requirements of 14 CFR §119.71
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience
• Ability to travel throughout the United States, Caribbean, and Canada as required
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet all FAA, company, General Operations Manual (GOM), Operations Specifications, training, checking, and qualification requirements
Preferred Qualifications
• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
• Previous Chief Pilot experience
• Previous Assistant Chief Pilot experience
