I am a commercial pilot and CFI who enjoys connecting the dots and helping others, be it ideas from different disciplines or people from different teams. I have strong technical skills and an academic background in business, statistics, and aviation.

My passion lies in solving problems and ensuring safety by collaborating with others in the aviation community in order to achieve common goals. By using tailored data, technical knowledge, and effective communication of complex ideas to all team members, I am able to facilitate the accomplishment of major projects in a time-efficient manner.

In addition to my studies at the University of Florida, I’ve taken on the demands of balancing and incorporating responsibilities associated with participation in the University of Florida Gator Marching Band and continuing aviation education. I am a Commercial Airplane Single Engine and Multi-Engine Land pilot with my Certified Flight Instructor with an Instrument Rating and I also have my Complex Endorsement, High-Performance Endorsement, Tailwheel Endorsement, and Sea Plane Rating.

I graduated from the University of Florida in May 2023. After that, I began work as a customer service representative/ line technician at my local FBO where I worked through my ratings. Now I am currently helping others achieve their dream safely through flight training and a CFII.

Highlights

Private Pilot Checkride Real Engine Failure
October 3, 2018 On October 3rd 2018, I experienced a real engine failure event on my Private Pilot Checkride. About halfway through the checkride, we were headed to another airport to go do the landings. Shortly before reaching the airport, I noticed some engine roughness and pulled carb heat and checked my fuel tanks and mixture setting and talked through what I was doing and why I was doing it to my DPE. The roughness went away and after we did the first landing, we pulled off and did a mag check on both magnetos, switched the fuel selector, and checked carb heat again and could not replicate the problem. After completing another run-up and working through the checklist and finding no anomalies, I decided to continue and the DPE agreed. The next takeoff I was conducting was a short-field and right after passing through 700 feet I experienced a partial power loss dropping roughly 600 RPMs. I declared and emergency and was safely able to land on the crossing runway. At that point we had to discontinue the checkride and figure out a plan. I called the flight school and made them aware of the situation and after a couple of hours, they were able to send another plane so I could finish the checkride. I completed the rest of the tasks on the flight on the way back to our airport of origination and passed my checkride that day. I was able to manage the situation safely and even continue and successfully complete the checkride in a different airplane thanks to my ability to remain calm and rely on my training.
