Description

Position Summary
The First Officer assists the Pilot in Command (PIC) in the safe and efficient operation of scheduled airline flights while maintaining compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures. This position supports all phases of flight operations and provides professional customer service while operating throughout SkyWest’s nationwide route network.


Responsibilities
• Assist the Pilot in Command (PIC) in conducting flights safely and efficiently.
• Assist the PIC and passenger service personnel to ensure prompt departures.
• Assist or relieve the PIC in the manipulation of flight controls during taxi, takeoff, cruise, and landing.
• Operate in accordance with FAA regulations and company operating procedures.
• Maintain professionalism while working assigned schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.


Requirements
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings.
• English Proficiency Endorsement (EPE).
• Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
• FCC Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
• Valid passport or travel documents permitting unrestricted international travel.
• Must be available to work any schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be within three months of meeting the minimum flight hour requirements of FAR 61.159.
• Must meet ATP eligibility requirements prior to employment.
• Applicants using helicopter or glider time must have a minimum of 250 hours PIC fixed-wing time.


Preferred Qualifications
• Completion of the ATP Written Exam (SkyWest provides an approved ATP-CTP course for successful interview candidates).
