Description
Position Summary
The VFR Pilot is responsible for providing safe and efficient helicopter air medical transportation while operating under CAMTS guidelines. This position supports emergency medical response missions, maintains the highest standards of aviation safety and professionalism, and works closely with medical crews to deliver critical patient care in diverse operational environments.
Schedule
• Full-Time
• 7 days on / 7 days off.
• 24-hour operations with day/night rotations.
• Travel required.
• Base location varies.
Responsibilities
• Conduct VFR/NVG air medical transport missions.
• Perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM).
• Support the Safety Management System (SMS) and company safety initiatives.
• Participate in community outreach programs.
• Assist with loading and unloading patients and medical equipment.
• Maintain compliance with CAMTS guidelines and company policies.
• Work collaboratively with medical crews, dispatch, and customers.
• Deliver safe, efficient, and professional air medical services.
Requirements
• FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate.
• Instrument Helicopter Rating.
• FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• Minimum 2,000 Hours Total Flight Time.
• Minimum 1,500 Hours Helicopter Time.
• Minimum 1,000 Hours Helicopter Pilot in Command.
• Minimum 500 Hours Turbine Helicopter Time.
• Minimum 100 Hours Unaided Night Flight Time or 50 Hours Unaided Night Flight Time plus 100 Hours Night Vision Goggle (NVG) Time.
• Maximum body weight of 235 pounds.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical examination, drug screening, and background investigation.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds while assisting with patients and equipment.
• Acceptance by customer and company management.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bell 407 experience.
• Previous air medical experience.
