Position Summary

The Pilot or Senior Pilot serves as Pilot in Command (PIC) for utility helicopter operations supporting power transmission, gas line patrol, storm response, personnel transport, and other company aviation missions. This position is responsible for safe flight operations, regulatory compliance, crew coordination, and supporting utility infrastructure while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

Schedule
• Full-Time
• 12+ hour duty days.
• Overnight travel (80+ nights annually).
• Weekends and holidays as required.
• Standby and call-out assignments required.
• Office duties when not flying.
• Must reside within one hour of the assigned base.

Responsibilities
• Serve as Pilot in Command for utility helicopter operations.
• Conduct power line and gas line patrol flights.
• Support storm response and utility restoration operations.
• Perform flight observer duties.
• Identify transmission line and vegetation deficiencies.
• Analyze operational and inspection data.
• Transport company personnel.
• Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight duties.
• Prepare flight plans, weather briefings, NOTAMs, TFRs, performance calculations, and Flight Risk Assessments.
• Utilize Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Aeronautical Decision Making (ADM).
• Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain required pilot qualifications, medical certificates, and recurrent training.
• Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Perform department assignments including Training Pilot, Safety Officer, Standards Pilot, Internal Auditor, Security, Lead Base Pilot, or other assigned roles.
• Manage crew and passenger safety throughout flight operations.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Commercial Pilot Certificate.
• Instrument Helicopter Rating.
• FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• Minimum 5 years related experience (Pilot level).
• Minimum 3,000 Helicopter Flight Hours.
• Valid U.S. Passport.
• Ability to obtain initial type rating in assigned company aircraft.
• Ability to reside within one hour of assigned base.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
• Minimum 10 years pilot experience.
• 5,000 PIC Helicopter Hours.
• Low-level utility flying experience.
• Part 133 External Load experience.
• H145 experience.
