Description
Position Summary
The RQ-4 Global Hawk Pilot serves as Pilot in Command (PIC) for NASA RQ-4 Global Hawk operations, supporting ground and flight operations, mission planning, flight testing, and operational development. This position is responsible for conducting safe flight operations, supporting aircraft modifications and testing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and participating in all phases of mission execution for CONUS and OCONUS deployments.
Schedule
• Full-Time
• Monday–Friday, generally 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Additional hours as required
• Day and night operations
• CONUS and OCONUS deployments
• Travel required
Responsibilities
• Serve as Pilot in Command for NASA RQ-4 Global Hawk operations
• Plan and execute ground and flight operations
• Conduct ground and flight testing of modified aircraft
• Support development of operational, training, and safety procedures
• Develop procedures for new aircraft modifications
• Ensure compliance with NASA, FAA, and company regulations
• Coordinate FAA Certificates of Authorization (COAs)
• Participate in mission planning, crew resource management, briefings, debriefings, and lessons learned
• Execute ground and flight safety planning
• Support deployed flight operations
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 7 years aviation experience
• Flight operations crew member experience
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate
• Airplane Single Engine Land (ASEL)
• Instrument Rating
• FAA Class II Medical Certificate or higher
• Minimum 500 Pilot in Command (PIC) flight hours
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM
• Military flight experience
• RQ-4 Global Hawk experience
• Flight test experience
• Multi-Engine Rating
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
• Crew aircraft experience
• Aviation instructor experience
• Experience obtaining FAA Certificates of Authorization (COAs)
