Position Summary

The Contract Pilot is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Cessna 340A during Part 91 flight operations. This position supports owner-directed trips, aircraft repositioning, maintenance flights, and post-maintenance test flights while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, insurance requirements, and company procedures. This is a contract (1099) opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time salaried position as flight activity increases.

Schedule
• Contract (1099)
• As-needed flight assignments
• Mix of day trips and multi-day itineraries with overnight travel
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• Approximately 20–60 flight hours per month

Responsibilities
• Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) during Part 91 flight operations
• Conduct thorough pre-flight planning, including weather, fuel, weight and balance, performance, and alternate planning
• Provide professional and discreet service to aircraft owners and passengers
• Coordinate scheduling, FBO services, fueling, catering, and ground transportation as needed
• Perform post-flight inspections and report aircraft discrepancies promptly
• Maintain accurate flight logs, Hobbs/Tach records, and trip documentation
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel regarding aircraft inspections, airworthiness, and service requirements
• Conduct maintenance, repositioning, and post-maintenance test flights as assigned
• Maintain aircraft cleanliness and operational readiness between flights

Requirements
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Multi-Engine Land (AMEL) Rating
• Instrument Rating with current single-pilot IFR proficiency
• Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate or higher
• Current Flight Review and Instrument Currency
• Meet insurance underwriting requirements (final approval determined by insurance carrier)
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to KCXO
• Ability to pass a background check
• Clean FAA record with no accidents, incidents, violations, or enforcement actions
• Minimum 1,200 hours total flight time
• Minimum 200 hours multi-engine flight time
• Minimum 50 hours instrument time (actual and simulated)
• Minimum 25 hours in a Cessna 340 or similar aircraft, or completion of an approved type-specific training course

Preferred Qualifications
• Cessna 340/340A flight experience
• Twin Cessna 300/400 series experience (310, 320, 335, 340, 401, 402, 414, 421)
• Turbocharged and pressurized piston aircraft experience
• Formal type-specific training
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
• Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), CFII, and/or MEI Certificates
• Familiarity with Houston-area airspace and Gulf Coast weather
• Garmin GTN, G500-series, or comparable avionics experience
• Previous Part 91 owner-flown or corporate flight department experience
