Description

Position Summary

The Technical Pilot serves as the aviation subject matter expert supporting Honeywell’s Flight Technical Services organization. This position provides technical guidance to pilots, operators, aircraft manufacturers, and internal teams while supporting avionics platforms, navigation services, pilot training development, regulatory approvals, and customer operations. The role combines operational aviation experience with technical expertise to advance aviation technology and support global flight operations.

Responsibilities
• Provide technical and operational support to pilots, operators, aircraft manufacturers, and internal teams
• Develop and support pilot training and reference materials in collaboration with technical writers
• Deliver pilot training and train-the-trainer sessions for training organizations
• Serve as the aviation subject matter expert at industry conferences and customer events
• Publish technical articles and aviation-related content
• Work directly with the FAA and customers to obtain Required Navigation Performance Authorization Required (RNP AR) approvals
• Support the development, evaluation, and implementation of specialized flight procedures for navigation services
• Collaborate with sales teams to support aviation database products and customer solutions
• Support multiple avionics platforms and in-service operational activities


Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (technical degree preferred)
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP), CAA ATPL, or EASA ATPL
• Part 135 and/or Part 121 flight operations experience, or Part 91 experience in Honeywell-equipped aircraft
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills
• Exceptional computer proficiency, including process automation and AI applications
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines
• U.S. Person status or ability to obtain required export authorization

• Ability to simplify and teach complex technical information
• Ability to obtain an aircraft type rating for Honeywell-equipped aircraft
• Strong customer service mindset

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
