I am a former high school teacher with a degree in Mathematics from UNC Charlotte. After nearly a decade of classroom teaching, I transitioned to flight school to finish my training that I began in 2008. I quickly completed my ratings and have spent the last 2+ years as a CFII at a part 141 school in Greensboro, NC. I serve as a part 141 check instructor and have >75% first time pass rate for my students. I am eager to learn from experienced captains and first officers in commercial flight operations, and I am excited to expand my aviation career and experience. I take professionalism and safety very seriously, and I make a point to remain current and proficient in my flight operations. I currently live in Winston-Salem, NC with my wife and two daughters, but I am willing to relocate for the right opportunity. As of August 2026 I have 1600 total time with 50+ hours of multi-engine time. I have 150+ hours of instrument flying with 200 hours of night and 400 hours of cross country flying. I have completed ATP-CTP and have passed my ATM written test. I have no checkride or written test failures.

Triad Aviation Academy - March 1, 2024 Responsible for the training of part 61 and part 141 flight students. I am responsible for planning, executing and reviewing flight lessons in accordance with the approved flight curriculum while maintaining and teaching the highest safety standards at all times. I also have the responsibility of conducting student stage checks.

Highlights

A320 Level D Simulator
April 4, 2026 Part of ATP-CTP class, I received 8 hours of level d A320 simulator training. I was formally introduced to crew environment flight operations, high altitude flight characteristics, stall recovery, upset attitude recovery, emergency situations, TCAS RA and TAWS operations among several other professional flight line philosophies. I took away a drive to continue my professional development in the cockpit and to learn from more experienced pilots to bring my best to the flight deck.
Night Emergency - Electrical Failure
August 20, 2025 During a flight back to NC in a Beechcraft Baron, I experienced total electrical failure. The airplane that I was flying was equipped with electronic instruments and gps that both went dark. I resorted to my backup instruments and remained VFR as I was also without a radio. I was able to follow the coastline until finding an airport with lights on that I could attempt a landing. After a successful landing I reflected on ways to mitigate this emergency in the future. I now carry a backup radio in my flight bag and am sure to double check my alternator charge before taking off, particularly at night.
