An avid aviation enthusiast, commercial pilot and aerospace engineer, with multidisciplinary experience in the aeronautical industry. I’ve worked on jet propulsion, aircraft handling qualities & electronic flight controls before making the flightdeck my office.

I’ve had the fortune of flying an interesting mix of aircraft across multiple countries. From taildraggers & skiplanes off rough dirt strips or snowy alpine altiports, to aerobatics and modern glass cockpits. I’ve enjoyed aviating across BC’s expansive landscapes, in Europe and the remote regions of Baja and the Sea of Cortes. I have considerable PIC experience on the Navajo/Chieftain operating single pilot, under both VMC and IMC, and extensive mountain flying experience.

Consultant: Aircraft Handling Qualities
Deutsche Aircraft January 10, 2022 - March 31, 2022 Provided short-term external technical support to Deutsche Aircraft during the PDR stage of the new 328eco regional turboprop. Handling qualities analysis using in-house engineering simulation tools, to verify compliance with EASA CS-25 specifications.
Flight Physics Engineer - Airbus Aircraft Handling Qualities, Flight Dynamics & Control
Altran June 1, 2017 - August 20, 2019 Designed & verified Primary Flight Control System (PFCS) functions under various flight phases, using simulated and real test flights. Aircraft programs: Airbus A350, A330neo • Recalibrated and adapted A330 weight and C.G estimator for the A330NEO. Interfaced with flight test team to define and produce flight test order (FTO) for system validation. Monitored test flights in real time to ensure flight test data quality and manoeuvres compliance with FTO. Fine-tuned system based on flight test results. • Updated main specification document for A350 flight warning system. Produced FTO and conducted pilot-in-the-loop flight simulator campaign for performance verification of the various aural and visual cues. • Simulated and verified A350 aircraft handling qualities throughout the aircraft’s operational flight domain, as per Part 25 specifications. • Recalibrated and updated an AoA-protection monitoring function on the A350-1000 to address spurious triggering and account for updated post-flight aerodynamic model.
