Since October 2020, David Hansen has pursued a disciplined and comprehensive path in fixed-wing aviation, earning a broad range of professional pilot certificates, ratings, and instructor qualifications. He holds Commercial Pilot, Multi-Engine, and Instrument ratings, along with CFI, CFII, Advanced Ground Instructor, and Instrument Ground Instructor certificates.

In September 2023, David completed the FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program (ATP-CTP) and successfully completed the ATP written examination. As a dual citizen of Canada and the United States, he subsequently completed the reciprocal FAA-to-Transport Canada examinations and is fully licensed in Canada as a Commercial Pilot with Multi-Engine, Night, and Instrument ratings, along with a Transport Canada Radio Operator Certificate.

From October 2023 through June 2024, David flew with SkyLens Aerial Imaging, based in Hammond, Louisiana, on an eight-month seasonal contract. During this period, he was consistently one of the company’s top three pilots, averaging approximately 104 flight hours per month. The position required a strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, operational discipline, and reliable completion of demanding flight schedules. David maintained a strong safety record while efficiently managing the requirements of a high-volume commercial flying operation.

David is now seeking a long-term professional flying position with a Part 135 or Part 91 operation where he can contribute his experience, strong work ethic, instructional background, and commitment to safe operations. His goal is to join an organization where he can build a long-term career, become a dependable member of the flight department, and continue developing professionally over the next 10–15 years.

Highlights

Landing at KATL
February 3, 2024 Aerial imaging at 10,000 feet over ATL. Landed a C-172 on 8L then to signature to refuel. Quite an amazing experience. A Delta commercial jet was instructed to go around behind me. I call two days prior to be certain all was clear for my small aircraft to land safely. The taxi experience was enjoyable with large planes ahead and behind me on departure.
