Position Summary
The Co-Pilot is responsible for supporting KC-130H/T flight operations, including Functional Check Flights, Acceptance Flights, Ferry Flights, and pilot training in support of depot maintenance operations. This position assists with the safe planning, execution, and documentation of flight operations while maintaining compliance with applicable technical guidance, government requirements, aircraft limitations, and established procedures.

Schedule
• Full-time.
• Permanent duty location is currently to be determined and will remain Government Designated (TBD).
• Frequent travel required in support of depot Functional Check Flight operations at Fleet Readiness Center East (MCAS Cherry Point, NC).
• Flexible hours and short-notice availability may be required.
• Position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities
• Support the safe planning, execution, and documentation of KC-130H/T Functional Check Flights, Acceptance Flights, and Ferry Flights.
• Conduct initial, transition, requalification, continuation, upgrade, mission, and remedial training for KC-130H/T pilots.
• Provide instruction in aircraft systems, limitations, operating procedures, flight characteristics, aircraft performance, mission planning, Crew Resource Management, Operational Risk Management, and emergency procedures.
• Conduct flight instruction during ground operations, takeoff, departure, instrument flight, en route operations, aerial refueling, tactical operations, approaches, landings, and other authorized mission events.
• Demonstrate and instruct normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures in the aircraft and approved training devices.
• Monitor trainee performance and identify deficiencies in knowledge, judgment, procedural compliance, aircraft control, situational awareness, and crew coordination.
• Provide immediate corrective instruction when necessary to protect personnel and equipment and prevent unsafe aircraft operations.
• Conduct pre-flight briefings, post-flight critiques, progress reviews, and formal training debriefings.
• Document trainee performance and provide recommendations regarding additional training, advancement, qualification, requalification, or removal from training.
• Develop and review lesson plans, training scenarios, courseware, instructional materials, training records, and aircrew training requirements.
• Participate in standardization conferences, instructor development programs, training review boards, mishap prevention programs, and aircrew training program assessments.
• Maintain proficiency in aircraft systems, operating procedures, mission employment, instructional techniques, and applicable governing directives.
• Contribute to Monthly Task Status Reports (MTSR).
• Complete and maintain required flight and training documentation.
• Coordinate with government personnel, maintenance organizations, and aircrew members to support safe flight operations.

Requirements
• Fully qualified KC-130H/T T2P Co-Pilot.
• Meet applicable experience and flight-hour prerequisites for the position.
• Successfully complete prescribed instructor training and evaluation requirements.
• Maintain required medical and flight qualifications.
• Formal designation as an Instructor Pilot by competent authority.
• Active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass required background checks for access to applicable military installations.
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond on short notice as required.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Strong analytical, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
