Description

Position Summary
The Flight Instructor delivers ground and simulator-based pilot instruction in accordance with applicable aviation regulations and established training principles. This position conducts training, evaluates pilot performance, and maintains required instructor qualifications and training records.

Responsibilities
• Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
• Develop and prepare training materials in accordance with applicable curricula and client needs.
• Evaluate and measure trainee progress and proficiency.
• Recommend trainees for qualification or additional training as appropriate.
• Complete accurate training records for each client.
• Identify training issues and obtain assistance when necessary.
• Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.


Requirements
• Unrestricted FAA ATP Certificate or ICAO member-state Airline Transport Pilot License; or meet the specified requirements of 14 CFR Parts 61.153 and 61.64 without an SOE limitation.
• Minimum one unrestricted PIC type rating.
• Ability and willingness to participate in DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
• Knowledge of applicable aviation regulations.
• Ability to effectively manage and instruct classes.
• Strong facilitation and customer service skills.
• Ability to receive and incorporate feedback.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements associated with classroom and simulator instruction.


Preferred Qualifications
• FAR Part 135 experience.
• FAR Part 121 experience.
• Military training experience.
• 2,500 hours total flight time.
