Description

Position Summary

The Direct Entry Captain serves as Pilot-in-Command and exercises final authority for the safe conduct of assigned flights. This home-based position is responsible for operational decision-making, crew leadership, aircraft airworthiness, regulatory compliance, flight planning, and the safe transportation of passengers and cargo.

• Minimum guarantee of 72 flight hours per month

• Days, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required

Responsibilities
• Exercise final authority for the safe conduct of each assigned flight
• Ensure the safety of crew, passengers, aircraft, and cargo
• Provide leadership and guidance to First Officers and other crewmembers
• Apply effective Crew Resource Management principles
• Verify aircraft airworthiness, documentation, and regulatory compliance before departure
• Review and approve flight plans considering weather, aircraft performance, fuel, altitude, terrain, and regulatory requirements
• Make operational decisions regarding flight initiation, delays, cancellations, and diversions
• Maintain communication with System Operations Control
• Oversee fueling operations, cargo security, and passenger safety requirements
• Report operational irregularities, mechanical discrepancies, and suspected regulatory violations
• Maintain accurate flight and duty records
• Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and procedures
• Maintain professional standards of appearance, communication, and fitness for duty
• Provide leadership focused on safety, professionalism, and customer service


Requirements
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP)
• Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate
• Multi-engine aircraft type rating
• Minimum 7,000 hours Total Flight Time in turboprop and/or turbojet aircraft in the operating seat
• Minimum 2,000 hours PIC on multi-crew, multi-engine commercial aircraft
• Minimum 1,000 hours Part 121
• Must meet FAR 121.436 requirements for Direct Entry Captain status
• FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
• Valid U.S. Passport or equivalent authorization for unrestricted worldwide travel
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
• English proficiency at ICAO Level 4 or higher
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to successfully complete DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to successfully complete a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC)
• Ability to lead effectively and remain composed in a fast-paced operational environment


Preferred Qualifications
• Boeing 737 Type Rating
• Previous Part 121 Captain experience
