Description

Position Summary

The Direct Entry Captain is responsible for the safe and timely operation of assigned flights in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and established operating procedures. This position serves as Pilot in Command, providing leadership to the flight crew while maintaining aircraft safety, operational efficiency, and passenger care.


Schedule
• Full-time.
• Must have been actively flying during two of the past five years.


Responsibilities
• Serve as Pilot in Command and maintain responsibility for assigned aircraft throughout the designated duty period.
• Conduct flights safely and in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and operating procedures.
• Determine aircraft airworthiness and evaluate weather, airport conditions, navigational aids, and other operational factors before flight.
• Supervise assigned crewmembers and their enroute performance.
• Maintain proficiency and knowledge of applicable aircraft systems, procedures, and flight operations.
• Complete required preflight and post-flight inspections.
• Ensure flights are properly planned and fueled.
• Review load manifests and verify passenger counts before departure.
• Coordinate with dispatch regarding conditions affecting flight schedules, diversions, cancellations, rerouting, or rescheduling.
• Communicate turbulence, adverse weather, and other relevant operational conditions to crew and passengers.
• Support the proper handling of passengers, baggage, cargo, and aircraft when necessary.
• Assess operational risk and utilize appropriate resources to maintain acceptable safety levels throughout ground and flight operations.


Requirements
• Minimum age of 23 at time of hire.
• FAA Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Airplane Multi-Engine Class Rating.
• Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• Valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
• Minimum 3,000 hours Fixed-Wing Time.
• Minimum 2,000 hours in large Group II transport-category fixed-wing aircraft exceeding 41,000 pounds maximum takeoff weight.
• Minimum 500 hours PIC in large Group II transport-category aircraft exceeding 41,000 pounds maximum takeoff weight.
• Minimum 500 hours U.S. FAA Part 121 PIC within the previous three years.
• PIC experience must be as Captain or Aircraft Commander of record.
• Must maintain required Pilot Record Database training history.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
• Valid passport or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to travel unrestricted to and from the United States.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Must pass required pre-employment drug testing, fingerprint-based criminal history check, and background check.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
