Description
Position Summary
The First Officer supports the Captain in the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of company aircraft while ensuring adherence to all regulatory and company procedures. This position assists with all phases of flight operations and assumes command if the Captain becomes incapacitated.

Responsibilities
• Assist the Captain in the safe and timely operation of each flight
• Monitor the aircraft’s flight path and onboard systems
• Perform all required pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures
• Communicate with internal departments, service providers, and passengers
• Navigate and operate the aircraft in accordance with company procedures
• Ensure compliance with SACAA regulations and company operating manuals
• Deliver exceptional customer service
• Complete all required operational and legal documentation
• Assume command in the event of Captain incapacitation
• Maintain familiarity with company operating manuals and aviation regulations
• Assist the Captain with operational and administrative duties
• Support high standards of crew discipline, professionalism, and appearance
• Verify safe aircraft navigation and terrain clearance
• Monitor aircraft performance and immediately report deviations or abnormalities
• Conduct required radio communications
• Complete all required post-flight documentation and reports
Requirements
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• SACAA Commercial Pilot Licence
• SACAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
• Minimum 1,500 hours total flight time
• Minimum 500 hours multi-turbine time
• Multi-crew flight experience
• No existing medical conditions
• Willing to sign applicable training bond agreements
• No criminal record
• Willing to undergo drug and alcohol testing
• Valid South African driver’s license and own transportation
• South African citizenship with proof of identity
• Valid South African passport
• Willing to work rostered and irregular schedules
• Strong knowledge of SACAA, ICAO, and applicable aviation regulations
• Knowledge of ICAO Doc 8186
• Knowledge of commercial and airline transport pilot licensing requirements
Preferred Qualifications
• SACAA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL)
• Boeing Type Rating
• Experience operating commercial jet aircraft over 20 tons
