Description
Position Summary
The Home Base ATR Captain is responsible for conducting safe, efficient, and compliant Part 121 flight operations. The Captain maintains command of the aircraft throughout each assignment while overseeing flight safety, cargo operations, crew performance, regulatory compliance, and operational decision-making. This position is eligible for participation in the FedEx Purple Runway Program.
Schedule
• Full-time.
• Two weeks on duty followed by one week off.
• Maximum of 16 weeks off per calendar year.
• No scheduled weeks off during the December peak period.
• Pilots may voluntarily forfeit a week off for additional duty and compensation.
• Home Base pilots designate an approved airport from which company-provided duty travel begins and ends.
• Approved home base airports must have daily service to multiple hubs on at least two qualifying major network carriers or their regional partners.
Responsibilities
• Safely operate the aircraft throughout all phases of flight.
• Monitor weather, aircraft conditions, cargo safety, fuel requirements, and loading.
• Make go/no-go and alternate destination decisions based on operational conditions.
• Maintain command and sound decision-making during unexpected or abnormal situations.
• Coordinate with stations, ATC, flight controllers, Dispatch, and Maintenance.
• Complete required FAA reports and report unusual aircraft behavior or performance.
• Accurately record flight hours and comply with FAA rest requirements and company procedures.
• Supervise and evaluate assigned personnel.
• Maintain current knowledge of applicable regulations, procedures, manuals, and operating policies.
• Complete required operational documents, expense reports, and correspondence accurately and on time.
• Maintain professional leadership and operating standards.
Requirements
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Multi-Engine Land Rating.
• FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• Minimum 2,500 hours Fixed-Wing Total Time.
• Minimum 1,000 hours PIC.
• Minimum 1,000 hours Multi-Engine Land.
• Minimum 300 hours Turbine/Turboprop.
• Minimum 500 hours Crew Time.
• Meet Part 121.436 pilot qualification requirements.
• Maintain IFR currency and proficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to comply with FAA/DOT-required drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform required physical duties.

Compensation
• Eligible home base pilots may receive applicable compensation adders.
• Home base pilots outside an existing domicile receive a regional pay incentive comparable to the baseline Spokane location.
