Chief Pilot
Description
Position Summary
The Chief Pilot is responsible for supervising flight operations personnel, ensuring compliance with FARs, and maintaining pilot training, qualification, and proficiency standards for Part 91 and Part 135 operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Chief Pilot provides both operational leadership and strategic planning to support company growth and safe flight operations.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage flight operations in compliance with FAA regulations and company standards
• Exercise Operational Control as authorized by the Director of Operations
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to support aircraft readiness and scheduling
• Assign and schedule pilot staffing
• Serve as Pilot in Command as required
• Support interviewing, hiring, training, and counseling of pilots and operations personnel
• Direct pilot training activities and compliance programs
• Maintain pilot and operational records in accordance with Part 135 and DOT requirements
• Prepare and distribute operational communications, bulletins, and crew instructions
• Promote safety throughout all areas of the operation
• Maintain training programs and manual revisions
• Represent the company during regulatory meetings and audits
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Operations
Requirements
• Meet Chief Pilot qualification requirements under 14 CFR 119.71(c)
• Meet management qualification requirements under 14 CFR 119.69
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
• Cessna 402C and/or T303 Type Rating
• FAA First Class Medical Certificate
• Minimum 1,500 Hours Total Flight Time
• Minimum 500 Hours Multi-Engine PIC Time
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• Thorough knowledge of FARs, FAA regulations, DOT regulations, company manuals, and aviation safety standards
• Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to travel as a company representative
