Position Summary

The Chief Pilot is responsible for overseeing all flight operations while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and Part 91 and Part 135 operational requirements. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this leadership role supervises pilot personnel, manages training and operational control, promotes a strong safety culture, and supports the strategic growth of the flight department.

• Base in Port Angeles or Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities
• Oversee flight operations and ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company policies
• Exercise Operational Control as delegated by the Director of Operations
• Supervise and schedule pilot personnel
• Serve as Pilot-in-Command as operationally required
• Direct pilot training programs and regulatory compliance
• Support hiring, interviewing, counseling, and management of pilots and operations staff
• Maintain pilot records in accordance with Part 135 and DOT requirements
• Prepare and distribute operational bulletins and crew communications
• Promote and oversee company safety programs
• Manage training programs and flight operations manual revisions
• Represent the company during FAA audits and regulatory meetings
• Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to support aircraft availability

Requirements
• Meet Chief Pilot qualifications under 14 CFR 119.69 and 14 CFR 119.71(c)
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
• Cessna 402C and/or T303 type ratings
• FAA First-Class Medical Certificate
• Minimum 1,500 hours total flight time
• Minimum 500 hours multi-engine PIC time
• Thorough knowledge of FARs, FAA regulations, DOT requirements, and Part 91/135 operations
• Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to travel as required

Preferred Qualifications
• Previous leadership experience with a Part 135 operator
