Description
Position Summary
The Chief Pilot, Seattle 1 serves as the Seattle-based Chief Pilot for a Part 91 corporate flight department operating three aircraft from two bases. The position reports to the Director of Aviation and is responsible for pilot supervision, flight operations management, safety management, training oversight, regulatory compliance, crew scheduling coordination, and leadership of the Seattle flight operations team.
Responsibilities
• Report directly to the Director of Aviation
• Supervise five Seattle-based pilots
• Serve as a management teammate alongside the Denton Chief Pilot and Director of Maintenance
• Maintain accessibility to department personnel
• Monitor developments within the business aviation industry and regulatory environment
• Participate in management of the Safety Management System (SMS)
• Revise and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists
• Maintain operational manuals and documentation
• Supervise initial and recurrent pilot training programs
• Manage relationships with training providers
• Coordinate crew scheduling and training activities
• Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
• Complete annual departmental and corporate training requirements
• Support international and overseas operations as required
• Perform additional aviation management duties as assigned
Requirements
• Legal authorization to live and work in the United States
• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
• Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
• Multi-Engine Land (MEL) Rating
• Appropriate Aircraft Type Rating
• Current PIC Proficiency Endorsement (FAR 61.58)
• 5,000 Hours Total Flight Time
• 3,000 Hours Turbine Multi-Engine Time
• Ability to communicate via ICAO radiotelephony standards
• Ability to pass TSA and airport background screening requirements
• Valid Passport
• Valid Driver’s License
• Associate Degree
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
• Current Gulfstream G280 Type Rating
• Flight Instructor Experience
• Training Captain Experience in Large Turbojet Aircraft
• Safety Management System (SMS) Experience
• Risk Assessment Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree
