Description

Position Summary
The Certified Flight Instructor provides FAA Part 61 flight training to Private Pilot, Instrument, and Commercial Pilot candidates. The position provides flight, simulator, and ground instruction while supporting student progression and maintaining established training and safety standards.

• Part-time


Responsibilities
• Provide flight training in accordance with FAA Part 61 regulations
• Provide flight, simulator, and ground instruction in-person or virtually as applicable
• Train Private Pilot, Instrument, and Commercial Pilot candidates to meet or exceed Airman Certification Standards
• Conduct flights with students when their primary instructor is unavailable
• Introduce new students to facilities, policies, procedures, and available training programs
• Follow established curriculum and Training Course Outlines
• Maintain accurate and current student records and logbooks
• Ensure training standards, requirements, and objectives are met
• Assist with student onboarding and scheduling
• Monitor student progress and provide individualized recommendations
• Arrange student stage checks as necessary
• Ensure required student and renter documentation is on file before providing instruction
• Monitor aircraft condition and report discrepancies
• Assist with aircraft towing, parking, fueling, and cleanliness
• Maintain familiarity with applicable FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, training requirements, and airport operations
• Attend staff meetings and standardization training


Requirements
• Current FAA Airplane Single-Engine Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII) Certificate
• Instrument instructor qualification may be waived based on operational needs
• FAA Third-Class Medical Certificate
• Ability to satisfactorily complete required initial and recurrent flights with the Chief Flight Instructor
• Satisfactory ground and flight knowledge for assigned training courses
• Participation in the applicable drug and alcohol testing program
