Position Summary

The Program Team Lead oversees an Instruction operation, providing leadership and management for an aviation pilot training program and its faculty. The position focuses on instructional quality, student success, faculty development, regulatory compliance, program growth, industry engagement, and operational performance. Course coverage may occasionally be required if appropriately credentialed, but the position generally does not carry a teaching load.

Responsibilities
• Lead and develop aviation faculty while establishing clear performance expectations and program goals.
• Recruit, retain, coach, and support qualified instructional personnel.
• Monitor student learning outcomes, progression, and overall program performance.
• Identify barriers affecting student success and coordinate appropriate intervention and support.
• Coordinate with the Chief Pilot and Assistant Chief Pilot on improvements to the flight training program.
• Work with the Chief Pilot and maintenance personnel to support safe and timely aircraft maintenance.
• Maintain program alignment with applicable 14 CFR Part 61, Part 91, and Part 141 requirements.
• Coordinate program resources, course scheduling, recruiting activities, and safety initiatives.
• Participate in student recruitment and program marketing efforts.
• Develop relationships with aviation industry employers and other stakeholders.
• Monitor aviation industry trends and emerging technologies to support relevant training programs.
• Participate in budget development and manage ongoing operational budgets.
• Support curriculum and instructional content development.
• Manage student and faculty grievance processes in coordination with appropriate leadership.
• Provide students with guidance regarding aviation career opportunities.
• Provide course coverage when necessary and appropriately credentialed.

Requirements
• Substantial aviation industry experience.
• Strong understanding of 14 CFR Parts 61, 91, and 141.
• Previous experience in a Part 141 flight school environment.
• Familiarity with TSA regulations applicable to flight school records.
• Demonstrated leadership experience supporting student achievement in a competency-based learning environment.
• Experience leading teams focused on student support and instruction.
• Strong coaching, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Understanding of competency-based education.
• Proficiency with technology-based educational delivery systems.
• Experience supporting struggling or at-risk students.
• Must complete federal employment eligibility verification requirements upon hire.
• Finalists must successfully complete a criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications
• Current FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certificate.
• Experience recruiting and developing teams.
• Experience with profit and loss responsibility and accountability.
• Experience working with adult learners and distance-learning environments.
• Change management and organizational leadership experience.
• Previous faculty experience in a similar educational environment.
• Project management experience.
