Description
Position Summary
The Simulator Second in Command maintains qualification and currency in assigned training programs to serve as SIC for customer pilots completing recurrent, initial, or generic simulator training. This is a non-instructional role supporting pilots who require a qualified flying partner during multi-crew training events.
Schedule
• Schedule may vary based on assigned training programs and customer needs.
Responsibilities
• Serve as Second in Command for customer pilots training in multi-crew aircraft without a flying partner.
• Perform SIC duties during recurrent, initial, and generic training courses without providing instruction.
• Maintain SIC pilot qualification and currency for assigned training programs.
• Maintain qualifications in accordance with applicable Quality Management System processes and procedures.
• Keep all certificates, ratings, and designations required for SIC duties current.
• Serve as SIC in various aircraft training programs for Part 142, Part 135, and non-FAA customers.
• Communicate effectively with customers in a professional cockpit environment.
• Adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure training situations.
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED with two to three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings.
• Minimum 450 hours flight time.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Excellent cockpit communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with a variety of customers.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure situations.
• Must maintain all certificates, ratings, and designations required for assigned SIC duties.
• Must successfully complete required employment compliance reviews.
• Must meet applicable ITAR and/or EAR requirements when required for assigned programs.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
• Second-language proficiency may be beneficial or required based on Learning Center needs.
