Description

Position Summary

The 2027 Flight Operations Pilot Intern supports Airlines operations through a 16-week internship designed for students pursuing professional flight careers. The program provides exposure to commercial airline operations through assignments within Chief Pilot Offices, the Flight Training Center, and Corporate Support Center, along with mentorship, special projects, and potential business travel.


Schedule
• Temporary, full-time internship.
• Start Date: January 11, 2027.
• End Date: April 30, 2027.
• 16-week program.


Responsibilities
• Support Flight Operations business processes and personnel.
• Assist staff within Chief Pilot Offices, the Flight Training Center, and/or Corporate Support Center as assigned.
• Complete tasks and special projects assigned by a designated mentor.
• Participate in professional development and operational learning opportunities.
• Travel to other locations for business trips or off-site visits when required.
• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance.
• Relocate and secure housing in the assigned internship location.


Requirements
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate.
• Current FAA First, Second, or Third Class Medical Certificate.
• Valid, unexpired passport for international travel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must successfully complete the required interview process.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.


Preferred Qualifications
• FAA Multi-Engine Rating.
• Understanding of generative AI tools and their appropriate use for research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated information while following applicable data privacy and security policies.

Compensation
• Starting rate: $17.50 per hour.
• Denver: $19.29 per hour.
• San Francisco: $21.54 per hour.
• Los Angeles: $22.50 per hour.
• Newark: $21.25 per hour.
• Not bonus eligible.
