Position Summary
The Chief Pilot is responsible for the training, management, and operational oversight of a team of fixed-wing aerial survey pilots. The role promotes safe and efficient Part 91 aerial survey operations while overseeing pilot standardization, proficiency, training, daily flight activities, and continued improvement of flight operations.

Schedule
• Full-time

• Must be able to work within the Eastern Time Zone
• Nights, weekends, and after-hours work as necessary
• Up to 40% domestic travel

Responsibilities
• Manage and oversee the Line Pilot group and daily pilot assignments
• Serve as lead trainer and performance evaluator for Line Pilots
• Maintain personal proficiency and train pilots on aircraft and camera systems
• Provide initial training and standardization for Line Pilot qualifications
• Conduct Train-the-Trainer instruction, Critical Functional Check Flight (CFCF), IOE, and turbo training
• Conduct and supervise Line Pilot proficiency checks
• Maintain records of pilot licenses, certificates, ratings, training, and qualifications
• Develop and enhance pilot training and LMS courses
• Promote and support the Safety Management System and established safety programs
• Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies, standards, and safety procedures
• Coach pilots in airmanship, professional standards, and aeronautical decision-making
• Participate in daily operations meetings
• Optimize flight time, capture efficiency, and Pilot Operations performance metrics
• Support departmental improvement initiatives
• Perform limited Line Pilot duties as operationally required
• Support refinement of the Flight Operations Manual
• Work with Aviation Safety to address operational safety concerns
• Perform administrative duties related to the pilot group

Requirements
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate (CPL)
• Current Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certificate
• Current Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) Rating
• Current FAA First or Second Class Medical Certificate
• Minimum 2,500 hours Total Flight Time
• Minimum 2,000 hours PIC
• Minimum 500 hours Multi-Engine PIC
• Minimum 1,000 hours Dual Given
• Minimum 250 hours Multi-Engine Dual Given
• Minimum 500 hours Cross-Country Flight Time
• Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
• Knowledge of Part 91 operating requirements
• Valid U.S. Passport
• Valid Driver’s License
• English proficiency
• Ability to pass drug testing and background checks

Preferred Qualifications
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
• Current CFII
• 3,000 hours Total Flight Time
• 1,000 hours Multi-Engine PIC
• Previous Chief Pilot experience
• Aerial survey or aerial imaging operational experience
• Aerial survey or photography flying experience
• Piper Aztec experience
• Part 135 experience
• Mountain flying experience
• Leadership and management experience
• Manual writing experience
• College degree or equivalent experience
• Experience working remotely
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Compensation
• Bonus potential up to 12.5%
