I always wanted to fly and attended the USAF Academy. After graduation, I went to pilot training in Columbus MS and was assigned to the 21 TAS out of Clark AB in the Philippines to fly the C-130E/H. My next assignment was flying the c-21A out of Peterson AFB CO, where I upgraded to an Instructor Pilot which led to me transferring to Ramstein AB Germany as an instructor also in the C-21A. My final Assignment was to the 50 As in Little Rock AFB flying the C-130H3. I separated for family reasons. We moved to the St Louis area, and I flew for a charter operation and a part 91 company for seven years. While in Missouri, I joined the 954 RSS USAF Reserves at Scott AFB to work in USTRANSCOM. After five years, my wife’s job moved her to Dallas. I got hired by CAE as a USAF military instructor for recurrent training and a civilian Training Center Evaluator. I also transferred from the USAF Reserves to the LA ANG. Eventually I became the Director of Operations for the 122 ASOS and had two deployments to the Middle East working with the US Army coordinating airstrike in support of US and Coalition ground forces. I retired as a Lt Col in 2018. During my last deployment, I met some contract pilots who brought me into the contracting world fleeing ISR aircraft.

Highlights

Worldwide experience
August 17, 1994 Worldwide experience: flown all over North America, Europe, and the Middle East, much of the South Pacific, South and Central America, and North Africa My most memorable trip was supporting a Congressional delegation touring US bases in the Middle East. On our second to last leg from Saudi Arabia to Egypt, I planned our route to hit the Nile River several hundred miles south of Cairo. With an antiquities map, I few just a 1000 ft and offset from the river and gave my passengers a tour down the Nile finishing with a slow 360 around the Great Pyramids.
