Hello. My name is Jim Bell and I have served as a UH-60 Blackhawk MEDEVAC pilot in the Army National Guard since Nov 2021.

Currently, I am deployed to Kosovo in support of NATO’s Operation Joint Guardian from January – October 2026. While on deployment, my unit is responsible for the aeromedical evacuation of any injured NATO personnel to higher levels of care throughout the region. When not deployed, I have had the oportunity to support a wide variety of domestic operations in the United States. These missions include wildfire fighting, flood or natural disaster response, and rescuing lost and injured hikers from the Smokey Mountain National Park.

In addition to my military experience, I hold FAA rotary-wing, airplane single engine land, airplane multi engine land, and instrument ratings with over 830 hours of total flight time. Additionally, I was fortunate to have recently earned a master’s degree in aerospace and defense from the University of Tennessee.

When not working in aviation I enjoy running, hiking, reading, camping, and helping out on the family farm.
