COMMERCIAL PILOT WITH ATP WRITTEN COMPLETE
Flying has given me the chance to apply a lifetime of leadership in a new and demanding setting. A long career in retail operations taught me to lead teams, solve problems, and anticipate what could go wrong; aviation has added the discipline to slow down, trust the checklist, and keep learning. With approximately 1,350 total hours and nearly 150 hours of actual IMC, much of it in the changing weather around Houston, I am seeking a Part 91 or Part 135 opportunity where safety, crew coordination, and thoughtful service are treated as equally important parts of the job.
My interest in aviation started long before it became my full-time focus. When I was young, my mom took me on a flight in a small private airplane. Before the trip was over, I had talked my way into the right seat and was having the time of my life. I started flight training as a teenager and logged about 40 hours before work, family, and other responsibilities took priority. Years later, a longtime friend encouraged me to take another look at flying professionally, and I decided it was time to stop putting it off. Since then, I have kept setting the next goal and pushing myself to reach it, and each one has given me another reason to keep going.
The same lead-by-doing approach shaped my career in customer-facing operations. I was often trusted with special projects, including helping develop a more consistent training program used by new-store trainees and district leaders. Good service means noticing what needs to be done and pitching in, whether that is loading bags, preparing the cabin, getting coffee, or helping a passenger. That has never felt beneath me. In retail, the relationships I built with customers led to invitations to weddings, birthdays, and family events. I would bring that same work ethic, practical leadership, and willingness to help wherever needed to a team that values safety, service, and CRM.
