The Father Aquinas Award
December 20, 2020 A Lewis University tradition, the Father Aquinas Colgan Award has been presented to an outstanding undergraduate student at each of the University’s Commencement Exercises since 1955. The award recognizes a graduating senior who has demonstrated personal and intellectual growth during his or her years at Lewis University. During my time as an undergraduate student at Lewis University, I challenged myself to push beyond the standard and excelled in as many areas within the campus life I possible could. The genuine connections professionally as well as socially had a profound impact on myself and my college experience. Being involved in social groups, professional organizations, campus ministry, the visual arts, community outreach (service) projects, and in the simple day to day interactions I had with my peers is the reason why I was nominated; and selected to receive the universities highest award, presented during the 2020 Undergraduate ceremony. Students nominated for this award must… Have demonstrated personal and intellectual growth that was made possible by his or her Lewis University educational experience.
