Aviation has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Some of my first, most
memorable toys were diecast model airplanes. I spent hours building small airports on the floor. I
was very fortunate to grow up around aviation; my grandpa flew P-3s in the Navy, and he
supported me every step of the way.

As I got older, flight simulators became a big part of my learning. I didn’t just play on the sim; I
studied real aircraft checklists, flows, and systems, long before I ever stepped into a real airplane.
By high school, I was already flying Boeing 737s in the sim and learning about an aviation
career path from a mentor who flew for Alaska Airlines.

I went to the University of North Dakota to turn my passion for aviation into a career. After
earning my degree, I continued flight training and obtained my CFI and CFII. My CFI
training changed the way I think; it taught me how to study with purpose, teach clearly, and really
understand the “why” behind what we do in aviation.

Now, I’m a flight instructor at Snohomish Flying Service. I love helping new students take their
first steps and grow their confidence in the cockpit. I’m also looking ahead to a future in
corporate or cargo flying—somewhere I can keep learning and keep flying with purpose.

Highlights

Volunteer Pilot at Alaska Aviation Day
June 7, 2024 Volunteered at Alaska Aviation Day as a part of aviation outreach. This event involves showing local boys and girls scouts, summer camps, and summer schools what aviation is all about from training airplanes all the way up to airliners and military aircraft. I showed students what to expect when they first start flight training and what goes into a preflight inspection.
Ronald McDonald House Volunteer
As part of the outreach program that we had at Galvin Flying, each quarter there were opportunities to volunteer at our local Ronald McDonald House. I participated with fellow coworkers to prepare meals and to assist with struggling families from all backgrounds.
