I vividly remember a kind pilot who let me sit in his airplane when I was three or four years old. The
experience etched itself in my memory and the dream of becoming a professional pilot has persisted.
My experience has ranged from flying King Airs to the Bahamas and long cross country flights across the
US, to knowing the complex systems of CRJs and Boeing 330/350/737/757s. I have worked tirelessly to
further my knowledge of aircraft systems and components, a choice that has significantly impacted my
decision making skills and confidence as a pilot in the flight deck.
I have been described as methodical and trustworthy and I approach problems like an engineer.
Applying logic and solving problems in real time have allowed me to think through options in stressful
situations and checklists are second nature to me.
When I am not instructing or maintaining airplanes, I enjoy being involved in the aviation community. I
volunteer my time freely and often refuse to charge ground instruction fees for students because I
understand how expensive flight training can be. I am determined to give back and support however I
can and am aware of the pitfalls that some students face, including deceptive instructors. I continually
strive to become a trusted mentor that every aspiring pilot deserves.
Outside of aviation, I am looking forward to learning how to scuba dive and enjoy working on and
maintaining diesel engines. I have also been learning how to grill and smoke meat, something that helps
me unwind after a long day at work.
