Auburn University Flight Education is a collegiate aviation program providing structured flight training to students enrolled in Professional Flight, supported by the university’s Temporary Employment Services (TES).

Position Summary

The Certified Flight Instructor (TES) is responsible for delivering flight, simulator, and ground instruction to university students while ensuring compliance with FAA and Auburn Flight Education standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide flight, simulator, and ground instruction
• Ensure compliance with FAA and university training procedures
• Maintain student schedules, records, and progress tracking
• Prepare students for stage checks, end-of-course tests, and FAA checkrides
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
• Monitor aircraft condition and report discrepancies
• Attend required meetings, standardization, and training events
• Complete additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
• CFII required (Level I) / MEI required (Level II)
• Current Third Class FAA Medical
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage student progress and scheduling
• Compliance with FAA and university training standards

Preferred Qualifications

• MEI certification
• Experience in structured training environments
