Sling Aircraft Madagascar, authorised Sling distributor, on behalf of a private owner, is looking for an experienced pilot to be based full-time in Maroantsetra, on the north-east coast of Madagascar, to fly and look after a 2025 Sling 4 High Wing (Rotax 916 iS, Garmin, ballistic parachute, ~500 h).

THE FLYING — Flights for the owner, the owner’s guests and business travel across Madagascar — strictly private, non-commercial operations, no charter — Antananarivo, Sambava, Nosy Be, Tamatave, Sainte-Marie: tropical weather, wild coastline. Around 20-35 hours a month. You keep the aircraft ready, log every flight, upload the flight data, carry out pre-flight and routine checks, and coordinate maintenance with the local mechanic and the approved maintenance organisation. A hangar is available on the airfield.

THE PLACE — Maroantsetra sits on Antongil Bay, gateway to Masoala National Park — primary rainforest down to the sea, coral reefs, humpback whales from July to September, Nosy Mangabe island a short boat ride away. A quiet provincial town, low cost of living, no traffic, a French-curriculum school (Antongil Académie) for families. Access is by air or sea only, the climate is wet, and medical facilities are basic — this is a posting for someone who wants nature and calm, not city life.

YOU — 1,000+ hours, real bush experience, Rotax experience (912/915/916), experience in Africa or a similar remote tropical environment, current medical, ICAO licence — validation with the Madagascar CAA and familiarisation on the Sling 4 HW are handled and paid by the employer, with a handover of a few dozen hours alongside an experienced instructor who knows the aircraft and Madagascar’s weather, so that you are fully at ease before flying on your own. Mechanic licence or Rotax training, instructor rating and French attract a salary premium. Pilots looking for a change of pace — a quieter place, real flying, a fine aircraft to fly and look after — are particularly welcome.

THE PACKAGE — USD 2,000-3,000 net per month depending on experience, plus a bonus per flight hour above an agreed monthly threshold, accommodation rented by the employer, health and repatriation insurance, work visa and permit handled by the employer, 30 days’ leave a year. Employment contract with the aircraft owner’s company.

PROCESS — CV, licence and medical copies, logbook summary and two references to stephane@aerialmetric.com before 10 October 2026 (applications reviewed on a rolling basis). Video interview, reference check, then an evaluation flight in Antananarivo and a meeting with the owner — travel reimbursed for the two finalists. Start no later than January 2027.
