FlightHired was built by a working Gulfstream captain and check airman who took his first flight in 2003, in the middle of a hiring boom, and finished his CFI in 2008 as the financial crisis shut it down. It took three years to find a first instructing job. There were job boards. There was nothing that told a brand-new CFI where to look, how to apply, or what a chief pilot actually wanted to see.
So this is the job board we needed back then. Every listing tells you whether you qualify before you apply. Pay data comes from real postings, not surveys. The Black Book maps more than 10,000 operators, many of which never post a job. And the low-time hiring guide is the advice that didn’t exist in 2008.
Aviation hiring runs in cycles. We watched 2001 from the ground and flew through the bottom of 2008 and 2020. This was built to help pilots get hired even when the market is down, because that’s when it matters most.
Whether you’re logging your first 500 hours or hiring your next captain, it was built by someone who still flies the line.
Joining is free, and a free account lets you search and apply to the jobs on the board at no cost. We never charge an application fee.
Pro Access is $18.99 a month. It covers the listings marked Pro Access, The Black Book directory of more than 10,000 aviation operators, and Salary & Hiring Trends.
If you never upgrade, you can still search, apply, and use every guide and template on the site.
Yes. A free account lets you apply directly, track your applications, and set job alerts that match your certificates and hours.
We review listings before they go on the board, and we remove anything that turns out to be misleading or out of date. Where an employer sets an application deadline, you’ll see it on the listing.
What no job board can promise is that a role is still open on the day you apply. Operators fill seats and pull postings without telling anyone. If something looks wrong, use the report link on the listing and we’ll look into it.
