Certified Flight Instructor

Position Summary

This part-time, temporary Certified Flight Instructor position provides flight and ground instruction to students pursuing private pilot, commercial pilot, and instrument ratings in accordance with Part 141/61 courses and training syllabi. The instructor is responsible for scheduling, briefing, debriefing, and maintaining accurate training records, while upholding the standards and mission of the university.

Responsibilities

• Provide flight and ground instruction to students
• Schedule students and maintain accurate training records
• Brief and debrief students on training lessons
• Endorse students as appropriate
• Submit weekly activity reports
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and internal policies
• Assist with departmental projects as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Flight instructor certificate required
• Ability to maintain currency and experience requirements for instruction
• Ability to interact professionally with students and staff
• Computer proficiency with Windows and Apple IOS
• Ability to teach in accordance with FAA Fundamentals of Instruction and university SOPs
