Pilot RW IP | UH-1ST

Position Summary

The Rotary-Wing Instructor Pilot provides UH-1 flight instruction, standardization, evaluation, and operational support for an OCONUS government aviation program. The position requires experienced helicopter instructional capability, NVG and instrument proficiency, strong safety leadership, and the ability to conduct demanding mission and training operations.

Schedule

• Full-time.
• Routine CONUS and OCONUS travel required.

Responsibilities

• Plan flight assignments and prepare or supervise flight planning.
• Manage, supervise, schedule, and direct crew-member training.
• Conduct academic and flight training and administer crew evaluations.
• Train and qualify crews for single- and multi-ship day, night, and NVG missions.
• Develop individual flight-training plans.
• Monitor crew proficiency and standardization.
• Maintain flight records, AWIS records, reports, publications, and references.
• Maintain NVG currency and instrument proficiency.
• Perform duties as Pilot, PIC, Instructor Pilot, Air Mission Commander, and Flight Lead.
• Ensure training and operations comply with applicable standards.

Requirements

• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Rotorcraft-Helicopter and Instrument Rating or military/host-nation equivalent.
• FAA CFI/CFII Certificate – Rotorcraft or military equivalent.
• Second Class Medical.
• FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
• 1,500 Rotary-Wing Total Time.
• 500 Turbine.
• 300 NVG.
• 200 Turbine Instructor Pilot or Check Pilot.
• UH-1 Instructor Pilot experience.
• NVG qualified.
• Spanish Level 2 Listening and Reading.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• U.S. Security Clearance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
• Combat experience and previous Iraq or Afghanistan exposure.
• Prior U.S. Military IP/SP.
• Prior U.S. Military MP/ME.
• Current DoS Secret clearance or MRPT.
• RW UH-1 FCP/MTP experience.
• UH-60 A/L/M, SH-60, HH-60, or MH-60 qualifications.
