Fixed Wing Pilot | Cessna 182 / ICP Savannah

Position Summary

A Fixed Wing Pilot is needed to support conservation operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Pilot in Command operates light fixed-wing aircraft on conservation, surveillance, logistics, emergency response, and remote operational missions.

Schedule

• Full-time, fixed-term position.
• 2-year contract, renewable.
• 6-month probationary period.
• Proposed 90 days on / 30 days off rotation.
• Remote operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct conservation surveillance and wildlife monitoring flights.
• Support aerial surveys and patrol monitoring.
• Conduct passenger, logistics, resupply, emergency response, positioning, and ferry flights.
• Operate from remote and unimproved airstrips.
• Complete preflight and post-flight inspections.
• Maintain required flight logs and mission reports.
• Support aircraft airworthiness and maintenance coordination.

Requirements

• Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) or higher.
• Current applicable ratings and proficiency on ICP Savannah and Cessna 182 aircraft.
• Instrument Rating.
• Class 1 Medical.
• 700 hours total time.
• Mechanical experience with Rotax 912 engines.
• Bush, remote-area, or conservation aviation experience.
• Experience with STOL techniques and unimproved airstrips.
• Professional spoken and written English.
• Valid passport and ability to obtain required work permits, visas, and aviation approvals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional African bush or conservation aviation experience.
• Wildlife monitoring, surveillance, reconnaissance, aerial count, or telemetry experience.
• Low-level operations experience.
• Additional Savannah, Sling, Cessna 182, or similar single-engine experience.
• French language skills.
