Position Summary

The Flight Test Pilot 4 serves as a key technical contributor and Pilot in Command for complex and high-risk flight testing within an avionics development and certification environment. The role requires advanced flight-test judgment, technical leadership, and strong coordination across engineering and certification teams.

Schedule

• Full-time.
• Core business hours.

Responsibilities

• Serve as PIC for difficult and high-risk experimental aircraft testing.
• Lead complex flight-test projects.
• Develop flight-test strategies and certification plans.
• Support product development teams as a flight-test subject matter expert.
• Mentor less-experienced flight-test pilots.

Requirements

• Commercial Pilot Certificate (CPL).
• Second Class Medical.
• Flight Test Pilot DER or ODA Unit Member qualification.
• 2,000 Total Time.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering with nine years relevant experience, or equivalent combination.
• Previous avionics flight-test experience.
• Experience working with certification authorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous systems engineering or software development experience.
• Helicopter pilot qualifications.
